Princess Ademiluyi Shines on Young Lionesses Debut with Two Assists in Algarve Cup Win Over Netherlands

West Ham United loanee Princess Ademiluyi made an impressive debut for the Young Lionesses, helping England’s U19 team secure a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands in their opening match of the Algarve Cup on Friday afternoon.

The Charlton Athletic forward, eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Falcons due to her parentage, earned her first call-up to the Young Lionesses for October’s international fixtures. Although eligible for Nigeria, Ademiluyi has chosen to represent England at the international level for now, joining the squad before their trip to Portugal.

Wearing the number 9 jersey, Ademiluyi started the match and played 77 minutes, later making way for Arsenal’s Jessie Gale. England’s Maddy Earl opened the scoring in the fifth minute, followed shortly by Lexi Potter’s goal in the tenth minute, set up by Ademiluyi. She provided another assist in the 34th minute, with her pass leading to Earl’s second goal, securing a comfortable lead.

The talented forward is expected to be part of the Young Lionesses squad for the upcoming round of qualifiers for the 2025 UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship in November. A potential appearance would provisionally cap-tie her to England.
