West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus Faces Potential Six-Game Ban After Red Card Incident

West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus may face a six-game suspension following a red card received in a heated clash with Tottenham. The incident, which saw Kudus initially booked with a yellow card that was later upgraded to red after a VAR review, led to his automatic three-game ban. Former referee Mike Dean suggested an extended suspension could be warranted, and the FA subsequently charged Kudus with “improper conduct,” potentially increasing his ban to six games.

West Ham is appealing the decision, aiming to present evidence to the tribunal detailing what provoked Kudus during the encounter. If the appeal fails, the midfielder will miss matches against Newcastle, Arsenal, and Leicester following the international break, with a return possible by their December 9 fixture against Wolves. Manager Julen Lopetegui has commented on Kudus’ need to control his temper, while former coach Kevin Nolan defends him, arguing that his intensity brings value to the squad.
