Ghanaian-born German winger Roberto Massimo has earned a place in Sofascore’s Bundesliga 2 Team of the Week, following his outstanding two-goal performance that led Greuther Fürth to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Schalke 04.
Massimo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, finishing a well-placed through ball from Branimir Hrgota. Just four minutes later, Damian Michalski doubled Fürth’s advantage, heading in a precise set-piece delivery from Julian Green. Schalke cut the deficit in the 32nd minute when Max Grüger scored from close range, but Massimo struck again before halftime with a spectacular long-range shot, making it 3-1.
Schalke’s hopes dimmed further in the second half as Felipe Sánchez saw red, and Noel Futkeu capitalized by netting Fürth’s fourth goal in the 62nd minute. Despite late efforts from Schalke’s Paul Seguin and Taylan Bulut, Massimo’s pivotal contribution until his substitution in the 84th minute secured a hard-fought win for Fürth in Round 10.
