Flourish Chioma Sabastine Joins Galatasaray, Teaming Up with Osimhen

In a significant move for women’s football, Galatasaray, the reigning champions of the Turkish Super Lig, have officially announced the signing of Flourish Chioma Sabastine, the talented Super Falcons striker. The young forward has inked a one-year contract with the club, marking the end of her stint with Stade de Reims Féminines in France.

At just 20 years old, Sabastine is the latest addition to a growing contingent of Nigerian players at Galatasaray, joining international teammates Tosin Demehin and the prominent Victor Osimhen, who plays for the men’s team. Her transition to the Turkish club follows an impressive career at Bayelsa Queens in Nigeria, where she not only won three titles but also made a name for herself as one of the league’s brightest prospects.

Sabastine’s talent shone brightly on the international stage as well, where she made headlines at both the 2022 and 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cups. She scored crucial winning goals against formidable opponents such as France and South Korea, and contributed to a decisive 4-0 victory over Venezuela.

Having already made her mark in the Super Falcons setup, Sabastine had a brief appearance in a friendly match against Japan in 2022, where she showcased her potential coming off the bench to replace Uchenna Kanu.

As she embarks on this new chapter with Galatasaray, Sabastine will be aiming to replicate the success of Osimhen, who has made a remarkable impact in his early days at the club, with eight goal involvements in just seven games across all competitions. The journey ahead looks promising for this rising star, who is poised to make her mark in Turkish football.
