The Nigerian Rugby League recently announced the appointment of three significant figures to drive the sport’s development. Nosakhare Agwoje steps in as the new Director of Rugby. A former national team player, Agwoje is dedicated to advancing rugby in Nigeria, focusing on nurturing local talent, expanding grassroots programs, and creating opportunities for Nigerian players internationally.
Joining him is Mozez Praiz, appointed as the Strategic Media Director. Praiz’s media expertise and fresh energy are expected to bolster the league’s visibility as it continues its growth in Nigeria. Rounding out the new appointments is Okeke Oluwaseyi Chika, who takes on the role of Sales and Marketing Officer.
The Nigeria Rugby League, established in 2018 by former professional rugby player Ade Adebisi (Vice President and General Manager) and led by Chairman Abiodun Olawale-Cole, is the sport’s official governing body in Nigeria. Recognized as an observer member of the Rugby League European Federation, the league has shown rapid growth since its inaugural 2019 season, with partnerships linking local clubs to Super League teams.
