Inaugural Mini Inter-Service Basketball Tournament Takes Center Court at Burma Camp, Accra

All eyes are on the basketball court at Burma Camp in Accra as the inaugural Mini Inter-Service Basketball Tournament kicks off, bringing together security service teams in a thrilling competition scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Launched on January 12 of this year at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra, the tournament introduced coveted trophies, medals, and other prizes, along with branded jerseys, heightening the stakes for the participating teams.

Six teams are set to compete, representing key security services: the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Army, Ghana Navy, Ghana Air Force, and the Prison Service. These teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A features the Air Force, Ghana Army, and Ghana Navy, while Group B sees the Ghana Police, Immigration Service, and Prisons Service in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group secure spots in the highly anticipated semi-finals.

Adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament are the Down Drill and Three Points contests, where teams will vie for trophies and enticing cash prizes. The competition promises intense action as these security service teams showcase their basketball prowess on the court.
