Victor Boniface Set to Pen Long-Term Deal with Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen secures future with Super Eagles striker after a stellar season.

Bayer Leverkusen is on the brink of securing a long-term commitment from their star forward, Victor Boniface. Reports indicate that the 23-year-old Super Eagles striker is close to signing a contract extension, further cementing his role as a key player for the Bundesliga champions.

Since his €21.7 million move from Royale Union SG last year, Boniface has been nothing short of sensational. He netted 21 goals and provided ten assists last season, driving Bayer Leverkusen to their maiden Bundesliga title and the Europa League final. His prolific form could have been even better if not for a thigh injury that sidelined him early in the year.

Despite speculation linking him with a move to some of Europe’s top clubs, Boniface chose to remain loyal to Leverkusen. This season, he has continued to impress, contributing seven goals and one assist in 13 appearances before sustaining another injury.

Boniface’s current contract runs until the summer of 2028, but the club is eager to secure his services well beyond that. Talks of an extension have gained momentum, with sources suggesting the deal could be finalized in the coming weeks.

This move reflects Bayer Leverkusen’s confidence in Boniface as a cornerstone of their future ambitions. Even while injured, the Nigerian forward remains a prized asset for the German champions.
