Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to recover from their recent setbacks and qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite the disappointment of failing to secure a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nyantakyi remains optimistic about the team’s future. In an interview with Sportsblog247.com, he reassured fans that all hope is not lost but acknowledged the need for immediate changes.
“I don’t think all is lost, but we have to fix it,” Nyantakyi said. “We have World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad and Madagascar, and I believe the right players must be called for these games.”
As the man who oversaw Ghana’s three consecutive World Cup appearances from 2006 to 2014, Nyantakyi stressed the importance of assembling a team with not only talent but also unwavering commitment to the national cause.
His call for significant reforms and proper player selection offers a glimmer of hope to fans who are eager for a resurgence after the Black Stars’ struggles.
The Black Stars will return to action in March 2025, determined to start their World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note against Chad and Madagascar.
