“Brian Brobbey Opens Up About Struggles and Sleepless Nights: ‘God Will Do His Work’”

Ajax striker Brian Brobbey is facing a tough season, grappling with missed chances and the mental toll of his struggles in front of goal.

The 21-year-old Dutch-Ghanaian forward has found himself in a slump, managing only three goals in 24 appearances this season. His frustration has seeped into his personal life, with sleepless nights and constant reflection weighing heavily on him.

In an honest conversation with NOS, Brobbey revealed the emotional burden of his recent form. “I really don’t sleep well,” he confessed. “For seventy days, I hadn’t scored a goal, and for seventy nights, I couldn’t sleep properly. It’s a lot of thinking in bed, wondering what I need to improve.”

His woes were compounded by a missed chance in Ajax’s recent cup match against Telstar, a moment that only fueled his frustration. “As soon as I get home, I lie down in bed and talk to one of my brothers about the game. This time it was Samuel, who told me not to hang my head and that everything will be fine.”

Despite the setbacks, Brobbey remains steadfast in his faith. “God sometimes puts me in difficult positions to ultimately make things better for me,” he said. “I trust that.”

Though his goal-scoring drought continues, Brobbey’s determination and faith keep him looking forward to better days ahead.
