Black Galaxies Depart for Decisive CHAN Qualifier Against Nigeria in Uyo

Ghana Aims to Secure CHAN 2024 Qualification in High-Stakes Reverse Fixture

Ghana’s Black Galaxies are en route to Uyo, Nigeria, for the second leg of their 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against the Super Eagles B. The team, led by head coach Didi Dramani, departed from Kotoka International Airport on Friday morning, fully aware of the stakes in Saturday’s clash.

The first leg, held last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, ended in a tense goalless draw, leaving the tie delicately poised. Both sides are vying for a spot in the CHAN tournament, which provides home-based players a rare chance to shine on the continental stage.

Since the draw, Dramani has worked relentlessly to fine-tune his squad, aiming to outmaneuver their West African rivals on their home soil. Ghana hopes to repeat history, having edged Nigeria on penalties in the last CHAN qualifier two years ago to book their spot in the tournament.

The winner of this encounter will earn a place in the 2024 CHAN competition, set to take place from February 1-28, 2025, across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

As the rivalry between the two nations intensifies, fans eagerly await the showdown in Uyo, with both teams desperate to claim the bragging rights and secure their place in the prestigious tournament.
