Rising Star: Dennis Konney Joins FC Porto’s Youth Ranks

Portuguese football powerhouse FC Porto has bolstered its youth setup with the signing of 18-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Dennis Konney. The promising talent joins the U19 squad under the guidance of coach Sérgio Ferreira, marking his first venture into European football.

Konney, who developed his skills at the renowned Rising Stars of Africa Academy in Accra, brings a unique blend of intelligence, vision, and composure to the pitch. Drawing inspiration from Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets, he prides himself on being a defensive midfielder who thrives on controlling the game and empowering his teammates.

“I enjoy watching my teammates succeed,” Konney shared. “I like creating the opportunities for them to score.”

With lofty ambitions, the young Ghanaian has set his sights on making a name for himself at one of Portugal’s most prestigious clubs. His immediate goal? To lift a trophy in his debut season.

“I came to be champion this year,” he boldly declared, underscoring his belief in the team’s potential.

Konney also dreams of stepping onto the iconic Estádio do Dragão in front of Porto’s passionate fans, following in the footsteps of club legends like Samu, Galeno, and Fábio Vieira.

As he begins this new chapter, Konney’s passion and determination signal the start of what could be an exciting footballing journey with the Dragons.
