Phylis Marku Moncar, a candidate vying for the Vice-Chairperson position in the upcoming GHALCA elections, has been directed to address irregularities in her nomination form to remain eligible for the January 21, 2025, contest.
The GHALCA Election Committee flagged discrepancies in Marku’s submission, specifically her endorsements. According to the committee, her current endorsements include two member clubs and one Regional Football Association (RFA), which does not meet the stipulated requirement. To rectify this, Marku has until 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, to secure additional endorsements exclusively from member clubs.
“Madam Moncar is directed to rectify the irregularity in her nomination form by securing endorsements from member clubs, as opposed to her current endorsements,” stated the GHALCA Election Committee in their decision on Wednesday.
Marku is up against Nana Amankwah Kwakye, the leading candidate, who has already been declared fit to contest. Should she meet the requirements in time, Marku will continue her campaign for the position.
The GHALCA elections, which are expected to shape the leadership of the association, will take place at the GHALCA Secretariat on January 21, 2025.
