Patrick Agyemang Earns First USMNT Call-Up Under Mauricio Pochettino

Charlotte FC forward Patrick Agyemang has received his maiden call-up to the US Men’s National Team as head coach Mauricio Pochettino begins preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 24-year-old Ghanaian-American, who impressed in the MLS last season with 10 goals and five assists, is poised to make his debut in the upcoming friendlies against Venezuela and Costa Rica.

The team, largely composed of MLS talents, has been training in Miami as they gear up for the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Agyemang’s inclusion highlights Pochettino’s intent to blend experience with emerging talents to build a competitive squad capable of making a mark at the global showpiece.

The former Tottenham manager has also included seasoned players like Tim Ream and Walker Zimmerman, alongside new faces such as Caden Clark and Emeka Eneli, signaling a mix of youth and experience. Agyemang’s debut is highly anticipated, particularly as he represents the next wave of dual-national talent opting for the USMNT.

The Yankees will face Venezuela on Saturday evening, followed by Costa Rica, in what promises to be a crucial test for Pochettino’s evolving squad.
