Dr. Randy Abbey to Lead Black Stars’ Engagement with Government as New Management Committee Chair

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled Dr. Randy Abbey as the chairman of the newly constituted Black Stars Management Committee. Tasked with overseeing the administrative and logistical operations of Ghana’s senior national football team, Dr. Abbey’s role includes spearheading engagement with the Government and other critical stakeholders.

Announcing the committee’s formation on Saturday, January 18, the GFA emphasized its confidence in Dr. Abbey, a seasoned football administrator and GFA Executive Council member, to guide the team’s off-the-field affairs.

Supporting Dr. Abbey is former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, who has been named deputy chairman of the committee. Appiah will focus on fostering strong player relations, drawing on his wealth of experience and leadership.

Other key members of the committee include Samuel Aboabire, chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, and Moses Armah, president of Medeama Sporting Club, who bring significant expertise to the team’s management.

The Black Stars Management Committee is tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the national team, managing logistical demands, and aligning with the GFA’s strategic goals for football in Ghana.
