Rising Star George Provides Assist in Blues’ Commanding 4-0 Victory
Chelsea’s young talent Tyrique George made his mark in a dominant 4-0 win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge, delivering an assist on just his third Premier League appearance.
The 19-year-old, who is eligible to represent Ghana, England, and Nigeria, entered the game in the 68th minute, replacing Pedro Neto. It didn’t take long for him to make an impact, setting up Marc Cucurella’s goal to cap off a commanding performance by the Blues.
The hosts took control early, with Christopher Nkunku breaking the deadlock in the 24th minute. Pedro Neto doubled Chelsea’s lead with a stunning strike before Levi Colwill’s header just before halftime made it 3-0. Cucurella’s goal, assisted by George, sealed a perfect night for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Fellow English-born Ghanaian youngster Josh Acheampong also featured, replacing Nkunku in the second half. Meanwhile, Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana played the full match for Southampton.
Chelsea’s dominant performance sees them return to winning ways, with their young stars proving they have plenty to offer.
