As Ghana’s Black Stars gear up for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers, former international Sam Johnson has sent a strong message to the squad: commitment is non-negotiable.
With the heartbreak of missing out on AFCON 2025 still fresh, the team is set to face Chad and Madagascar in their bid to qualify for the World Cup. Johnson, speaking passionately to Joy Sports, urged players to give their all or step aside.
“Don’t come and use our hearts to play,” he cautioned. “If you are here to play, then play. But if you’re worried about injuries and Ghana not taking care of you, stay where you are and take your big money. Let those who truly want to play do so.”
The Black Stars will battle Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT before heading to Morocco for their clash against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, at the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima.
Will Ghana rise to the occasion, or will their World Cup dream face another setback?
