Kofi Adams Confident in Black Stars’ Victory Ahead of Crucial Qualifiers

Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to secure victories in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

After failing to qualify for the 2025 AFCON for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars are determined to make amends by booking a spot at the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Adams revealed that the team’s technical staff has assured him of a strong performance in both matches.

“I saw their determination at training today. The technical team has assured me they are doing everything possible to win on Friday and Monday,” he told 3Sports, urging Ghanaians to support the team.

The Black Stars began training on Monday with nine players in attendance at the Accra Sports Stadium. The full squad is expected to assemble today as preparations intensify for the decisive games.

Ghana will host Chad on Friday, March 21, at 19:00 GMT before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, as they push for their fifth World Cup appearance.
