As Ghana prepares to face Madagascar in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo believes the key to victory lies in a delicate balance between individual brilliance and collective effort.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s match at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium, Addo emphasized the importance of teamwork and adaptability, urging his players to support each other on and off the ball.

“We have to continue to work for each other. Even if somebody makes a mistake, the other one has to be there to help him out,” the 49-year-old coach told the Ghana Football Association.

Addo, who previously worked with Borussia Dortmund’s talent program, praised his team’s tactical discipline during their recent win over Chad but acknowledged that Madagascar will present a unique challenge.

“Madagascar is now a new task, it’s going to be different. For us, it’s always important that the players read the game, read the signals, and understand our game plan,” he explained.

Leadership on the field, according to Addo, will be pivotal. “The leaders take a big role—if somebody is out of position, they must demand and correct it,” he added.

Despite Ghana’s superior track record, Addo remains cautious, acknowledging football’s unpredictability. “Football is not like simple mathematics. You can be better and create more chances but still not win,” he warned.
