Raymond Owusu Scores as SV Horn Held in Relegation Blow Against Floridsdorfer

Ghanaian forward Raymond Owusu was on the scoresheet for SV Horn, but his early strike wasn’t enough to secure victory as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Floridsdorfer AC in a crucial Austrian Bundesliga 2 encounter on Friday afternoon.

Owusu gave Horn the lead in the 23rd minute, calmly finishing off a clever pass from Karim Conté. The 22-year-old looked sharp throughout his 62-minute shift, consistently troubling the FAC defence with his pace and movement. Fellow Ghanaian, Ekué Prince Amoah, also impressed, earning applause from the Horn faithful.

Horn took a narrow lead into halftime, but Floridsdorfer came out stronger after the break, making key changes. Their persistence paid off in the 55th minute when Mirnes Becirovic converted from a well-worked corner to level the match.

Despite a late red card for FAC substitute Efekan Karayazi in the 85th minute, Horn couldn’t find a winner. The draw mathematically confirms SV Horn’s relegation in sporting terms, as they remain seven points behind safety with only two matches left to play.

SV Horn will look to restore some pride when they visit Kapfenberger SV on May 16 for their penultimate fixture of the season.
