Ghanaian teenager Yassin Mohammed is living the dream after officially beginning training with the first team of Swedish top-flight giants Malmö FF.
The highly-rated 18-year-old forward made the switch from Ghana’s West African Football Academy (WAFA) to Malmö in May 2025, following an impressive trial period with the club’s U19 side. His performances left a lasting impression on the technical team, especially with his exceptional agility, intelligent positioning, and instinctive attacking play.
Initially, his future appeared uncertain despite securing the move. However, the talented youngster has been making steady strides behind the scenes and is now training regularly with Malmö’s senior squad ahead of the new season.
Mohammed is said to be settling in well at his new club, adapting quickly to the pace and demands of Swedish football. His consistent performances in training have sparked optimism that he could soon be officially integrated into the senior team setup.
Born and nurtured in Ghana, Yassin Mohammed’s journey from the WAFA academy to Europe is already inspiring many back home. Observers believe he has the potential to reach great heights in his football career, and Malmö may just be the perfect launchpad for his rise.
If he continues on his current trajectory, Mohammed could become the latest Ghanaian export to shine in European football.
