Khaled Razak: Ghanaian Teen Sensation Joins Sparta Rotterdam

Sparta Rotterdam have pulled off a smart summer swoop, securing the signature of 19-year-old Ghanaian-Dutch winger Khaled Razak from Willem II.

The Tilburg-born talent, who cut his teeth at Willem II and PSV’s youth academies, burst onto the scene at just 17 when he debuted in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie against VVV-Venlo. Since then, he’s clocked 19 professional appearances, including a loan spell at Roda JC where he scored his first senior goal.

Razak has inked a deal running until mid-2026, with the Red-White Gladiators holding an option to extend for two more years. He will start his Sparta journey with Jong Sparta in the Dutch Second Division, with a clear pathway to the first team.

Technical director Gerard Nijkamp was full of praise for the youngster’s potential:
“Khaled is still a young talent, but he already has valuable professional experience. We see him as a key part of Jong Sparta next season, with the aim of him stepping up to the senior squad.”

Born to Ghanaian parents in the Netherlands, Razak remains eligible to represent either the Black Stars or the Oranje at international level — a decision that could become a hot topic in the near future.
