Arsenal’s Record Sale Still Trails Rivals’ Mid-Table Exits

In the world of blockbuster transfers, Arsenal’s biggest-ever departure — Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35m move to Liverpool eight years ago — is starting to look like small change.

Chelsea’s 12th most expensive sale, Liverpool’s 7th, and even Manchester City’s 6th have all brought in more cash than Arsenal’s record outgoing fee. While rivals cash in massively on stars — and sometimes even squad players — the Gunners’ top exit remains a distant memory from 2017.

The numbers don’t lie: Arsenal’s selling power is lagging behind.
