The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has thrown its full support behind Black Stars striker Antoine Semenyo after he was subjected to racial abuse during Bournemouth’s Premier League opener against Liverpool at Anfield.
In an official statement, the GFA condemned the incident while praising Semenyo for his resilience both on and off the pitch.
> “We stand firmly with our Black Stars forward, Antoine Semenyo, following the racial abuse he suffered at Anfield. In the face of provocation, Antoine showed strength, grace, and unity. On the pitch, he scored twice; off it, he reminded us of what football truly represents — respect, solidarity, and love for the beautiful game.”
The Association further hailed the 24-year-old for making Ghana proud, emphasizing that such acts of racism must have no place in football.
> “We are proud of you, Antoine. We stand with you.”
Semenyo’s standout performance — capped with two goals against Liverpool — has only strengthened the GFA’s message of unity and support, sending a clear statement that racism cannot overshadow talent and determination.
