Eto’o Launches State-of-the-Art Youth Football Centre in Ngaoundéré

In a vibrant ceremony on September 22, 2025, Cameroon legend and Fecafoot president Samuel Eto’o unveiled a brand-new youth training complex in Ngaoundéré, deep in the country’s Adamaoua region.

The project breathes new life into the Association for the Fight against Delinquency Football Center (Alcd FC)—a grassroots academy founded in 2006 and already renowned for shaping national and international talent. Guided by UEFA-certified coach Jean Dangai, the centre has sent more than twenty players into professional football, earning a reputation as one of Cameroon’s brightest talent factories.

“Through this project, Ngaoundéré confirms its place on the map of Cameroonian football,” Eto’o declared to the cheering crowd. “The dream of seeing future ambassadors of the game emerge now seems closer to reality.”

The initiative is more than bricks and turf. It is a statement of intent: to professionalise youth training, promote social inclusion, and position football as a force against marginalisation.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has already taken note. Speaking in Nairobi weeks earlier, he praised Eto’o’s leadership and highlighted Cameroon’s progress under the FIFA Forward development program: “The strides being made to make our magnificent sport accessible to more people are impressive.”

With World Cup 2026 qualifiers looming and preparations underway for the U-17 Women’s World Cup, Cameroon is clearly investing in its footballing future. Eto’o’s vision is to ensure the nation keeps producing top-class players while uniting communities through the beautiful game. The new Ngaoundéré facility stands as a powerful symbol of that ambition.
