Leicester Warned to Brace for Premier League Bids as Abdul Fatawu Shines

Leicester City have been urged to prepare for an onslaught of Premier League interest in Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu after his blistering start to the Championship season.

EFL expert and Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie, speaking to Football League World, believes the 21-year-old’s early form makes him a prime January target.
“He’s started the season well—exactly the kind of player a Premier League club would want,” Hendrie said. “Fast, skilful, and effective out wide. If he keeps this up, Leicester will have to brace themselves because interest is inevitable.”

Fatawu, who endured a lengthy spell out with a cruciate ligament injury last term, has returned stronger, netting twice and providing an assist in the Foxes’ opening five Championship matches. His resurgence has already drawn serious attention: newly promoted Sunderland reportedly lodged a £28 million bid during the summer window, but Leicester stood firm.

Manager Carlos Cifuentes later told BBC Sport, “We want to keep key players, and Abdul is one,” reaffirming the club’s commitment to holding onto their rising star.

With the January transfer window approaching and Premier League clubs circling, Leicester now face a battle to keep their Ghanaian gem at the King Power Stadium.
