Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is mourning the loss of his mother, Mrs Sarah Chukwueze, following a brief illness.

She reportedly passed away in the early hours of Thursday, with the news confirmed by Chukwueze’s siblings, Princess Chukwueze and David Chukwueze, through posts shared on social media.

The sad news comes shortly after another loss within the Super Eagles camp, as captain Wilfred Ndidi recently lost his father, Joseph Ndidi, earlier in the week.

Both Chukwueze and Ndidi were members of the Super Eagles squad that secured third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
