Interest in Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi is intensifying, with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United reportedly tracking the 20-year-old FC Nordsjaelland star.
According to TeamTalk, scouts and club representatives were in attendance over the weekend as Yirenkyi helped Nordsjaelland secure a 2-1 victory over Sonderjyske in the Danish Superliga. The midfielder opened the scoring and later assisted the match-winning goal, impressing with his vision, composure, and ability to control the midfield. His style of play has drawn comparisons to fellow Ghanaian legend Michael Essien.
Yirenkyi’s performances have attracted attention beyond England’s top clubs.
Brighton & Hove Albion have monitored him since last year, while Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Brentford, and West Ham United are also reportedly keeping tabs on the emerging talent.
FC Nordsjaelland are in no rush to sell, having rejected a January bid of around £15 million and recently securing Yirenkyi on a long-term contract. Any potential summer transfer is now expected to command a fee exceeding €25 million, setting up a competitive race for one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders.
