Asamoah Gyan Advocates for Mohammed Kudus to Lead the Black Stars

Former Ghanaian international Asamoah Gyan asserts that Mohammed Kudus should be the focal point of the Black Stars team, citing the midfielder’s outstanding performances for both club and country.

Gyan emphasizes that Kudus’ contributions warrant structuring the team around him. Since his debut in 2019, Kudus has garnered immense popularity among fans, netting nine goals in 26 appearances for the Black Stars.

Encouraging the national team’s management, Gyan asserts, “It’s clear – Mohammed Kudus.” Reflecting on his own era, Gyan acknowledges the presence of numerous talented players, culminating in his leadership role. However, he believes that Kudus, with his stellar performances, currently stands out.

“Right now, it’s Mohammed Kudus,” Gyan affirms. “He’s the standout Ghanaian player excelling in Europe, particularly in the Premier League. He’s also shining on the continental stage.”

Kudus has showcased his prowess in his debut season with West Ham, following his transfer from Ajax. Notably, he has contributed 12 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances for the Hammers during the 2023/24 season.
