Augustine Boakye Shines as Wolfsberger Secures Dominant Victory in Austrian Bundesliga

Ghanaian rising star Augustine Boakye made a significant contribution to Wolfsberger AC’s impressive victory in the Austrian Bundesliga clash against Austria Vienna over the weekend.

Boakye, a 23-year-old midfielder, showcased his talent by finding the back of the net as Wolfsberger cruised to a convincing 4-0 win at the Generali Arena.

The opening goal came from Nigerian midfielder Samson Tijani, who scored his first goal of the season in the 36th minute, setting the tone for Wolfsberger’s dominance in the relegation play-off match.

Thierno Ballo, an Austria international, further solidified Wolfsberger’s lead by converting a penalty kick just ten minutes into the second half.

Defender Simon Piesinger then extended the advantage for Wolfsberger before Boakye sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.

With this win, Wolfsberger surged to the top of the relegation group standings with 28 points from 31 matches, leaving them with one game remaining. Their final challenge will be against WSG Tirol next week.

Boakye’s goal, which came from a pass by Dominik Baumgartner, marked his eighth of the season. Additionally, he has been instrumental in the team’s success this campaign, providing six assists in 25 appearances.
