Newcastle United Nearing Deal for Highly Sought-After Nigerian Defender

Newcastle United is edging closer to securing a deal for Tosin Adarabioyo, the Nigerian central defender who has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.

As per Romano’s report, Newcastle has intensified its efforts to sign the 26-year-old, alongside Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly. The Magpies are in advanced talks with Adarabioyo, aiming to bolster their defensive ranks following long-term injuries to key players like Sven Botman and captain Jamaal Lascelles.

Adarabioyo, a product of Manchester City’s Academy, will become a free agent next month, making him an attractive proposition for Newcastle as they won’t have to pay a transfer fee to Fulham, his current club. Despite Fulham’s attempts to extend his contract, Adarabioyo has shown reluctance to commit beyond this summer.

Known for his reliability as a right-sided center-back in the Premier League, Adarabioyo’s quality has drawn interest from top clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea. However, it appears Newcastle is now in pole position to secure his services.

The imminent move to St. James’ Park signifies Adarabioyo’s eagerness for a new challenge and Newcastle’s determination to strengthen their squad significantly ahead of the upcoming season.
