Inaki Williams ‘Likely’ to Sit Out Ghana’s World Cup Qualifiers

Reports circulating in the media suggest that Ghana’s striker Inaki Williams may be ruled out of the Black Stars’ upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Ghana is set to take on Mali on June 6th before hosting the Central African Republic on June 10th at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Recent updates reveal that Williams underwent surgery to address a ‘painful’ scar on his left foot, as reported by Athletic Bilbao, as cited in Modern Ghana.

While the exact timeline for Williams’ recovery remains uncertain, it’s speculated that the popular forward could miss Ghana’s World Cup qualifier matches next month.

Ghana coach Otto Addo is reportedly keen to have Williams in the squad for the upcoming fixtures, especially after his absence in matches against Nigeria and Uganda in March due to injury.

Williams has been a standout performer for Bilbao this season, notching up 12 goals in 34 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign. Additionally, the pacey attacker clinched the Top African Player award for his outstanding performances in LaLiga this past season.
