Otto Addo Returns: Black Stars Gear Up for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Otto Addo, the coach of the Black Stars, is set to return to Ghana on Monday to commence his second stint as the head coach of the national team.

Having recently concluded his duties with Borussia Dortmund, the former player and talent development trainer agreed to lead Ghana in February. He led the team in friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda before bidding farewell to Dortmund.

Addo’s arrival signals the beginning of preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic. Expected to announce his squad this week, the selected players will convene for training camp starting May 30.

The team is scheduled to travel to Bamako on June 6 for the match against Mali, followed by a home fixture against the Central African Republic in Kumasi four days later.

With one win and one loss in their initial qualifiers, the Black Stars are eager to bounce back and secure vital points in their quest for World Cup qualification.
