Former Flying Eagles Star Osinachi Nwubani Signs with VfL Bochum

Irish-born Nigerian defender and former Flying Eagles center-back, Osinachi Keleb Nwubani, has signed with Bundesliga club VfL Bochum. The 21-year-old has agreed to a two-year contract, with an option for a one-year extension.

Born in Ireland to Nigerian parents, Nwubani is considered one of the brightest young prospects in African football. After impressing with Nigeria’s U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, Nwubani now has the opportunity to showcase his talents on the grand stage in Germany.

“I’m thrilled to be joining a historic club like VfL Bochum. This is a tremendous opportunity for me, and I’m eager to give my absolute best and help the team achieve success,” Nwubani said.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, the versatile defender can play both as a center-back and a full-back. He now has the chance to represent either Nigeria or the Republic of Ireland at the senior international level. Sportblog247.com reports that both national teams are closely monitoring his progress, making his decision on international allegiance highly anticipated.

It’s worth noting that former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh, also played for Bochum during the 2003/2004 season, making 32 appearances and scoring one goal.
