Ghanaian-Italian Striker Kelvin Yeboah Signs with Minnesota United

Minnesota United FC has announced the signing of Ghanaian-Italian striker Kelvin Yeboah to a three-and-a-half-year Designated Player contract, with a club option for 2028. Yeboah will join the Major League Soccer club pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC), occupying an international roster spot.

“The most important thing is always the project, from the soccer staff to my teammates all the way up to ownership,” said Yeboah. “Everyone here has ambitions to win, and that’s what I want to be a part of. Fans will see me on the field playing with passion, screaming, and giving my all. My mentality, mixed with my speed, strength, and technical ability, will help me succeed here in Minnesota. My goal is to influence the game as much as possible and give my all to my teammates, coaches, and fans.”

MNUFC Chief Soccer Officer Khaled El-Ahmad expressed excitement about the new addition, stating, “Kelvin is an exciting young player with vast experience among some of the best soccer players and clubs worldwide. Minnesota welcomes Kelvin, and I look forward to seeing the impact he can make within our club.”

The 24-year-old arrives from Italy’s Serie A side Genoa CFC, having recently been on loan to Belgian club Standard Liège, where he scored six goals in 14 appearances. He also had loan spells with FC Augsburg and Montpellier HSC. Before Genoa, he tallied 20 goals in 45 appearances for SK Sturm Graz in Austria.

Internationally, Yeboah debuted with Italy’s U21 team in 2021 during UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers. Despite turning down a call-up from Ghana at the time, he remains open to playing for the Black Stars in the future.
