Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson has completed a move to English Championship side Norwich City during the summer transfer window. The Black Stars international has signed a four-year contract, with an option for an additional 12 months, joining the Canaries from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
Forson, who made the switch to Europe in 2021 from the West Africa Football Academy, enjoyed a successful period in Austria, winning the league title with Salzburg. Now, he aims to help Norwich City secure promotion to the Premier League.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Forson said, “I’m really happy and excited to come to the club. The head coach has worked with many young players before, and it’s really nice to be here working with him.”
The 21-year-old midfielder will don the number 18 jersey at Carrow Road. Forson made his debut for Ghana in March 2024, where he impressed during a victory over Nigeria in Morocco. He has been a regular part of the national team, contributing to their back-to-back wins in the World Cup qualifiers in June.
