Ghana’s Golden Arms Prepare for World Armwrestling Championship in Moldova

Ghana’s national armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, is gearing up to compete in the 45th World Armwrestling Championship in Chisinau, Moldova, from August 15-25, 2024. The team includes standout athletes like double gold medalist and African champion Grace Minta, along with Edward Yamoah Asamoah, Blessing Abeka Nunoo, and Godwin Sackey.

Led by Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation and Africa Armwrestling, the team will depart on August 15. Despite limited funding reducing the team’s size, Osei Asibey expressed optimism about the opportunity for valuable international exposure.

The championship, hosted by the Moldovan National Sport Federation of Armwrestling, will feature over 1,500 competitors from more than 60 countries, with events broadcast live on the Olympic Channel and WAF YouTube Channel.
