Brighton Winger Ibrahim Osman Joins Feyenoord on Season-Long Loan

Brighton & Hove Albion’s 19-year-old winger Ibrahim Osman has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord. Osman, who joined Brighton earlier this summer from Danish club Nordsjaelland for around £16 million, will spend the 2024-2025 season with Feyenoord to gain regular first-team experience.

Albion’s technical director, David Weir, explained that the loan move is aimed at accelerating Osman’s development. “Ibrahim has had a good pre-season with the squad, but with strong competition in the wide areas, it’s better for his development to play regular senior football. Feyenoord provides an excellent opportunity for him to do that, and we will be closely monitoring his progress,” Weir said.

Osman, who scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 44 appearances for Nordsjaelland last season, expressed his excitement about joining Feyenoord. “Feyenoord is known for giving young players the chance to develop. For my growth, it’s important to play here and work on different aspects of my game. I aim to use my abilities to help the team achieve success in the Eredivisie and Europe,” Osman remarked.

Feyenoord, fresh off winning the Johan Cruyff Schaal, have qualified for the Champions League group stages. Osman will wear the number 38 shirt, though his debut is pending the issuance of his combined residence and work permit. The Ghanaian international, who has earned two caps for his country, is expected to bring pace and agility to Feyenoord’s attacking lineup this season.
