Yufi Basigi, the head coach of the Black Princesses, emphasizes that his team will approach the first leg of the U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Senegal with utmost respect and determination. Ghana is gearing up for the crucial match as they seek to secure their seventh consecutive appearance in the tournament, which will be held in Colombia.
Having fallen short of advancing past the group stage in their last U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign under Ben Fokuo, Basigi is focused on preparing his team for success in the upcoming encounter scheduled for Saturday, January 13.
Basigi commented, “With the inclusion of the Ampem Darkoa players, we are assembling a cohesive team. Preparations are in full swing, and we are committed to the task at hand. We understand the significance of qualifying for the World Cup and, as a result, will not underestimate the challenge.”
Ghana earned their place in the final round of qualifiers by defeating Guinea-Bissau and Eswatini. The team is determined to navigate through this crucial stage and secure a spot in the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
