Policewoman Grace Minta has made history by winning the gold medal in the women’s 80kg category at the 2024 World Armwrestling Championship in Moldova. Competing for the “Africa for Africa” team, Minta triumphed in a thrilling final, defeating opponents from Sweden, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, and other nations in a match that extended into overtime.

This victory marks Ghana’s first-ever gold medal at the World Armwrestling Championship. Minta, a dominant force in African armwrestling since 2019, stood proudly on the podium as the Ghanaian national anthem played, her gold medal symbolizing a significant achievement for her country and the African armwrestling community.

Minta expressed her gratitude to her supporters, including Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, her family, coaches, the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, dedicating the victory to her country and the continent.
