SWAG Establishes Panel to Select 2024 Sports Journalist of the Year

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has announced the formation of the 2024 SWAG Sports Journalist of the Year Award Panel, a prestigious group of experts dedicated to recognizing excellence in sports journalism. This panel, comprised of seasoned media professionals, sports industry experts, and academics, will carefully review and evaluate entries from sports journalists across Ghana to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah expressed confidence in the panel’s ability to uphold the highest standards in evaluating creativity, research, writing quality, and impact. The panel, led by Chairperson Evelyn Nsiah Asare, includes members Michael Oti Adjei, Rosalind Koramah Amoh, Nathaniel Laryea, Charles Kwadwo Ntim, Joseph Oti Asirifi Mensah (Secretary), and Owuraku Nsiah. The winner will be revealed at the 49th SWAG Awards ceremony on January 24, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Yeboah emphasized the importance of honoring sports journalism excellence, noting that sports journalists play a crucial role in promoting sports in Ghana and deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions.
