Ghana Boxing Federation Brings Community Boxing Initiative to Korle Gonno

The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) is bringing its Community Boxing Initiative back to Korle Gonno in Accra on Friday, September 6, 2024. The event will take place at Okpotsu Park, also known as Bannerman Park, near the Tuesday Market, starting at 7 pm.

Mr. Solomon Otoo, the Second Vice President of the GBF, emphasized the federation’s commitment to discovering and nurturing new boxing talent to succeed the Black Bombers, who missed qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. He noted that although the boxers gave their best, the lack of exposure and training tours hindered their performance.

“We have learned a lot and are determined not to let any opportunity slip by. We will select the best boxers and prepare them thoroughly for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. However, we also need financial support for training camps and travel,” Mr. Otoo stated.
