The spokesperson for the Youth and Sports Ministry, Charles Amofah, has confirmed that discussions are in progress regarding the possibility of reserving a specific stadium exclusively for national team games. This follows the Confederation of African Football’s decision to withdraw approval for Baba Yara Sports Stadium for Category Three matches.
While Ghana narrowly avoided playing a crucial match against Sudan outside the country by securing approval for Accra Sports Stadium, the Ministry is now seriously considering dedicating a single stadium for the Black Stars’ games, with other stadia reserved for league matches. This idea was first proposed by Panwum during his recent appearance before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports.
