Black Stars head coach Otto Addo expressed his belief that his team deserved a better result following their goalless draw against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday during the third round of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, Ghana’s frustration continued as their hopes of qualifying for the tournament remain uncertain.
In the post-match press conference, Addo reflected on the team’s missed chances, stating, “The chances were there. It’s very hard for us sometimes, and today it pains even more. The Niger game pains even more, and the last-minute goal against Angola pains even more. We did well today, and while the result is the most important thing in football, it’s not correct. I believe we deserved to win, but we didn’t. We will stay positive and aim to beat them away with the same performance, passion, and creativity.”
Currently, the Black Stars sit third in Group F with just two points, while Sudan is in second place with four points, two behind leaders Angola, who have played two games. Ghana will conclude their October international break with an away match against Sudan in Libya on Tuesday.
