Sudan defender Abdelrahman Kuku expressed his satisfaction with the playing surface at the Accra Sports Stadium following his team’s 0-0 draw against Ghana in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. Kuku highlighted that the quality of the pitch had no impact on the match’s outcome, praising it as conducive to good football.
“The pitch was good, so there’s no complaint. The field was what you guys picked, and it was fine. We executed our game plan well,” Kuku remarked.
Despite Ghana’s pressure and multiple second-half opportunities, the draw leaves them third in Group F with two points, while Sudan remains second with four points behind leaders Angola. Both teams will clash again on October 15, 2024, in Benina, Libya, where Sudan will aim for a decisive win to boost their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON.
