Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has officially opened his goal-scoring account for Amedspor, finding the net in their commanding 3-0 away win over Manisa FK at the Mumin Ozkasap Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Turkish TFF First League side during the summer transfer window, was once again trusted to lead the attack — and he didn’t disappoint. Showing flashes of his trademark pace and composure, Afena-Gyan capped a strong performance with a well-taken goal late in the game.
Veteran defender Mehmet Ucar set the tone for Amedspor, opening the scoring in the 36th minute with a precise finish that handed the visitors control. After the break, Adama Traore doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, combining beautifully with his teammates in a slick attacking move.
As the game drew to a close, Afena-Gyan put the result beyond doubt with a clinical strike in the 89th minute, connecting perfectly with a pass from Traore to seal a memorable win.
The goal marks Afena-Gyan’s first in Turkish league football and comes as a huge morale boost after a difficult spell in Italy with Cremonese. His performance will no doubt excite Amedspor fans and strengthen the team’s promotion ambitions.
With the victory, Amedspor continue their steady climb up the table — and Afena-Gyan’s return to scoring form could prove crucial as the season unfolds.

AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has opened up about the swirling transfer speculation linking him to Premier League powerhouses Liverpool and Manchester United — but the Ghanaian star insists he’s staying grounded and focused on the job at hand.
After a breakout season that saw him become one of Bournemouth’s most influential players, Semenyo caught the eye of several top European clubs. However, instead of seeking a move, the 25-year-old extended his stay at the Vitality Stadium, penning a long-term contract until 2030 — reportedly featuring a £75 million release clause.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Semenyo admitted he’s aware of the rumours but remains fully committed to Bournemouth’s project under manager Andoni Iraola.
> “I don’t think about it too much. I try to stay present as much as I can,” he said. “You see the news all the time — I see it too — but I just stay focused. I’m enjoying my football here. If I’m not scoring goals, all of that goes away. So I just focus on helping the team, scoring goals, and whatever happens in the future happens.”
The Ghana international also reflected on his decision to sign a new deal despite heavy interest during the summer.
> “There was a lot of back and forth when the transfer window opened, but I believed in the manager’s vision. The way we ended last season gave me hope, and the new players we’ve brought in have made us even stronger. I’m glad I stayed — I’m enjoying every moment.”
Semenyo’s faith appears to be paying off. He’s been in red-hot form this season, notching six goals and three assists in ten Premier League games, establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting forwards.

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo is a man on a mission this season. The Bournemouth striker, who has been in blistering form, has revealed his personal goal — to score 15 goals in the ongoing Premier League campaign.
Semenyo has already made a strong start, finding the net six times and delivering three assists in just 10 league appearances. His impressive performances have been one of the biggest positives for the Cherries, even as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland continues to dominate the scoring charts with 13 goals.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 25-year-old striker shared insight into his mindset and determination to improve every year.
> “Every year, I write my goals — what I want to do,” Semenyo said. “I always want to do better than what I’ve done in previous seasons. I set a challenge for myself this year, and I really want to push myself. I think I am a good finisher. I can help the team in many ways, and credit to the manager [Andoni Iraola] and all the players — they’ve been so helpful. Fifteen goals would be great.”
Semenyo’s steady rise has been evident — scoring eight goals two seasons ago and 11 last term — and he now looks primed to reach new heights.
Adding to his momentum, the Ghana international has also been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for October. He faces tough competition from stars like Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Moisés Caicedo (Chelsea), Emiliano Buendía (Aston Villa), and his own teammate Justin Kluivert.
After Bournemouth’s recent 3-1 defeat to Manchester City ended their unbeaten streak, Semenyo will be eager to lead a strong response when the Cherries travel to face Aston Villa this Sunday.

Football legends often choose their words carefully, especially when it comes to old rivals — but Didier Drogba has never been one to shy away from honesty. Despite his legendary Chelsea status, the Ivorian icon has confessed admiration for Tottenham Hotspur’s dynamic Ghanaian midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, calling him his “favourite African player in the Premier League.”
In an interview with SportyTV, Drogba shared his thoughts on the new wave of African talents lighting up England’s top flight.
> “I like Kudus,” he said. “I used to like Jackson because I saw a lot of similarities between his debut at Chelsea and mine — unfortunately, it’s been a tough period for him there. And of course, I can’t forget my brother, Mohamed Salah. King Salah, I love you.”
While Drogba’s praise for Kudus turned heads — especially among Chelsea faithful who consider Spurs a fierce rival — another African star has been quietly stealing the spotlight this season.
Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth’s powerhouse forward, has elevated his game to new heights, delivering performances that have caught the attention of top Premier League clubs. Reports suggest Tottenham are preparing a January move for the Ghanaian, but they’ll face stiff competition from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
Whether it’s Kudus dazzling with flair or Semenyo rising through grit and determination, African excellence continues to shine brightly across the Premier League.

With Ghana back on football’s grandest stage, Otto Addo must now navigate a thrilling but complex squad dilemma ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Accra, Ghana — The Black Stars have done it again. Ghana has officially sealed qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting the stage for a new era under head coach Otto Addo. But as celebrations sweep across the nation, Addo now faces a welcome yet daunting challenge — choosing the final squad from one of the deepest talent pools Ghana has seen in years.
A New Chapter for the Black Stars
Ghana’s qualification campaign was marked by a blend of youthful exuberance and experienced leadership. Key players delivered when it mattered most, while emerging talents stepped up to announce themselves on the international stage.
Now, with World Cup qualification secured, Otto Addo has the chance to reshape his team’s identity — blending seasoned veterans with the next generation of Ghanaian stars.
Football insiders believe Addo’s upcoming selection process will be one of the most competitive in recent history, with midfield and attack posing particularly tough choices due to the sheer number of in-form players.
Rising Stars and Returning Faces
Sources close to the Ghana FA suggest that several U-20 and U-23 standouts could be integrated into the senior squad after impressing in recent regional tournaments. Players who previously missed out due to injuries or inconsistent form are also expected to get another chance to stake their claim.
With Ghanaian talent flourishing both in domestic leagues and across Europe, Addo’s challenge isn’t about finding quality — it’s about narrowing it down.
> “The competition for places is fierce, and that’s exactly what you want before a World Cup,” a GFA official noted. “Every player knows they must earn their spot.”
Tactical Evolution and Selection Strategy
Addo’s tactical versatility has become one of his trademarks. His willingness to adapt — whether through a back three, a pressing 4-2-3-1, or a counterattacking setup — means the final squad will likely include players capable of thriving in multiple systems.
Pre-tournament friendlies will serve as testing grounds, offering Addo a chance to experiment and refine his tactical blueprint before the world’s eyes turn to North America.
Fans Await the Final Cut
Across social media and sports radio, debates are already heating up: Who should make the final 26-man squad? The rise of dual nationals and Europe-based stars — including those like Josh Acheampong now on Ghana’s radar — has only intensified discussions.
For Otto Addo, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Balancing experience and youth, flair and discipline, could define Ghana’s journey at the World Cup.
As the countdown to 2026 begins, one thing is certain:
Otto Addo’s toughest test lies not on the pitch, but on the team sheet.
