Liverpool could be preparing a sensational move for Bournemouth’s in-form forward Antoine Semenyo, as sporting director Richard Hughes remains a huge admirer of the Ghanaian star.
Hughes, who initially brought Semenyo to the Premier League from Bristol City for just £10.5 million during his time at Bournemouth, is said to be keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old’s blistering rise.
Semenyo has been one of the standout performers in the league this season, netting six goals — second only to Erling Haaland — and providing three assists, prompting Bournemouth to value him at over £75 million.
His explosive pace, relentless work rate, and eye for goal have caught the attention of several top clubs, but Liverpool’s internal admiration, driven by Hughes’ connection, could give them an early advantage in the race for his signature.

In a dazzling display of dominance and precision, Ghana’s Black Stars took a giant step toward World Cup qualification with a crushing 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic in their Matchday 9 encounter of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknès in Morocco.
From the very first whistle, Otto Addo’s men looked sharp, hungry, and unrelenting. The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Mohammed Salisu rose highest to meet a teasing cross from Mohammed Kudus, sending a powerful header into the back of the net to put Ghana in front. Despite several near misses, the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Black Stars.
After the break, Ghana’s relentless pressure paid off. Thomas Partey doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, capping off a brilliant team move orchestrated by Jordan Ayew. The veteran forward then turned provider again in the 69th minute, setting up Alexander Djiku, who made no mistake to slot home the third.
Barely two minutes later, Jordan Ayew got his own name on the scoresheet, curling home a stunning finish from Gideon Mensah’s cross to make it 4-0. The icing on the cake came in the 87th minute when Kamaldeen Sulemana grabbed his first international goal, tapping in from a precise Joseph Paintsil assist to seal the emphatic win.
With 22 points and one final qualifier left, Ghana sit comfortably atop Group I, needing just a draw against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, to officially book their ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
