After Ghana’s disappointing exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, newly appointed Black Stars Technical Director Winfried Schäfer is on a mission to rewrite the team’s narrative. Drawing from his rich experience managing Cameroon—where he led the Indomitable Lions to an AFCON title in 2002—Schäfer is bringing a renewed sense of purpose and strategy to Ghanaian football.
