Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has pointed to Mohammed Kudus’ dip in form as a major factor behind West Ham United’s disappointing 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Kudus, who dazzled in his debut season with the Hammers—netting 14 goals and providing 7 assists, while starring in their Europa League run—has failed to replicate that level of performance this term. The Ghanaian international has managed just four goals and three assists across all competitions.
Carragher, analyzing West Ham’s season on Sky Sports, expressed concern over Kudus’ drop in form and its impact on the team’s fortunes.
“There’s no doubt he’s a quality player who should be playing for a club closer to the top of the table,” Carragher said. “But one of the reasons West Ham are where they are is because he hasn’t shown the same form he did last season. He looked fantastic last year; this season, he just hasn’t looked like the same player.”
With West Ham currently struggling near the bottom of the table, Carragher believes Kudus’ underwhelming performances have been costly. He also hinted that a summer transfer could be on the cards, especially with financial concerns at the club and interest from top European sides.

Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has praised the outstanding team spirit within the Atalanta squad following their exciting 3-2 win over Genoa in the penultimate round of the Italian Serie A season.
The 21-year-old, making just his second league start of the campaign, put on a stellar performance at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris on Saturday, playing 81 crucial minutes and scoring a vital goal that spurred Atalanta’s comeback.
