Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has sparked laughter online with his playful reaction after learning that a Nigerian boy sold a pair of football boots he gifted him to a Rwandan player for $100.
The boy, who attended Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda—a match the Super Eagles lost 2-1—shared his story in a video posted by journalist Toyosi Afolayan. He revealed that despite receiving the boots from the Bayer Leverkusen star after the game, financial struggles pushed him to sell them.
Boniface, known for his humor, responded under a Sportsblog247.com post, jokingly asking for a share of the proceeds.
“Abeg, make una find this boy for me. Make he drop 10% of the money ooo,” he quipped, playfully suggesting the boy owes him a cut of the $100 sale.
When photojournalist Sulaiman Adebayo, also known as Pooja, reshared the video, Boniface doubled down on the joke, saying:
“I for give am jersey ooooo, but this guy fit go sell am again. If I give am money, he fit use am buy jersey too.”

Christantus Uche’s camp has shut down reports linking the Getafe midfielder with a potential summer move to La Liga powerhouse Atlético Madrid.
The 21-year-old, who has been a standout performer in Spain’s top flight with three goals and three assists in 27 appearances, was previously on the radar of former Mali head coach Eric Chelle during his Super Eagles scouting mission. Black Queens forward Princella Adubea has officially signed a two-year contract with Abu Dhabi Country Club in the United Arab Emirates. The move comes after her stint with Turkish side Trabzonspor, which she left mid-season to join the Gulf club.
Adubea made an immediate impact, scoring and providing an assist in her debut, despite her team’s narrow 4-5 loss to Hồ Chí Minh City I W.F.C in the AFC Women’s Champions League.
The talented striker began her career with Ghana Women’s Premier League side Ampem Darkoa before moving to Spanish club Sporting Huelva in 2019. She later played for Racing Santander in Spain and Kiryat Gat in Israel before joining Trabzonspor.
