Italian Serie A side Bologna have set their sights on Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze as they explore a potential January transfer deal with AC Milan. Despite joining Milan from Villarreal just two seasons ago, Chukwueze’s future at the San Siro has become uncertain following a series of underwhelming performances.
The 25-year-old forward made a name for himself in La Liga, amassing an impressive tally of 37 goals and 31 assists in 207 appearances for Villarreal. Chukwueze earned a reputation for being a nightmare for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, scoring three goals and providing two assists against Los Blancos, while netting three goals and an assist against the Blaugrana.
However, his expected impact in Serie A has yet to materialize, leaving AC Milan open to exploring options. Bologna, who are reportedly keen on acquiring the Nigerian star, have entered discussions with Milan about a potential loan deal for Chukwueze until the end of the season.
This interest aligns with Milan’s pursuit of Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini. Bologna rejected Milan’s initial bid of €18 million plus Noah Okafor, but the Rossoneri could use Chukwueze as part of the negotiations to sweeten the deal.
Despite Bologna’s eagerness, it remains uncertain whether Chukwueze would agree to the move, which could be viewed as a step down in his career. Meanwhile, the Super Eagles star has returned to training following a hamstring injury sustained in late 2024 and is expected to make his comeback to action soon.

Osimhen’s penalty powers the Turkish giants to a vital victory in a dominant performance at Rams Park.
Victor Osimhen once again proved his worth as Galatasaray’s talisman, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 triumph over Konyaspor in the Super Lig clash at Rams Park on Saturday.
The Super Eagles star has been in blistering form, with this goal marking his third in two games. Galatasaray came out firing from the first whistle, showcasing their dominance against a resolute Konyaspor side.
Osimhen nearly made an early impact in the 12th minute when he met a cross in the box, only to see his header drift narrowly wide. However, his persistence paid off in the 20th minute as he won a penalty after drawing a foul from Konyaspor’s Ismael Jakobs. The Nigerian striker stepped up confidently and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, giving Galatasaray a deserved lead.

AJ Auxerre’s Lassine Sinayoko Reflects on His Former Coach’s Qualities and Challenges
When Nigeria announced Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, Lassine Sinayoko couldn’t hide his delight. The AJ Auxerre forward, a key figure in Mali’s run at the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), attributes much of his international resurgence to Chelle.
Sinayoko, 25, first broke into the Mali national team in 2021 under Mohamed Magassouba but fell out of contention for two years. It wasn’t until Chelle took over that the winger was brought back into the fold. For Sinayoko, Chelle’s faith in him went beyond tactical decisions—it showed character and courage.
“I am very happy for him because, before being a good coach, he is a good person,” Sinayoko told RFI. “He had the courage to put me in the starting line-up during AFCON, even ahead of players from Champions League clubs. What is happening to him now is well-deserved.”
Under Chelle’s leadership, Mali advanced to the AFCON quarterfinals but fell to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in a dramatic encounter. Critics blamed Chelle’s substitutions for the loss, but Sinayoko disagrees.
“I heard a lot of people say the elimination was because of his substitutions,” Sinayoko noted. “But in the previous match against Burkina Faso, he made the same changes, and everything went well. Nobody complained then. There always has to be a scapegoat.”
Despite the criticism, Chelle now takes on a bigger challenge with Nigeria, who reached the final of the last AFCON, narrowly losing to Côte d’Ivoire.
